Welcome to 'Punctum'!
This site was created as part of an assessment task at Macquarie University for MAS110. In particular, it was part of a creative research project in which we were to choose a particular technology that we had focused on in one of the weeks during the semester and then elaborate on a particular idea/concept involved with that technology as well as choosing a suitable format to display it.
For me I was drawn to Photography and in particular Roland Barthes concept of 'punctum' and chose to create a website as best to portray the concept. I will attempt to show how social media and innovative forms of communication have reduced the intrinsic value of photography aligning with Roland Barthes concept of ‘punctum’.
