History of Photography

In 1839, Sir John Herschel revolutionised the capturing of image by making the first glass negative as opposed to metal. At this time he also came up with the term Photography. However, the idea of capturing image as well as practising image capture can be traced back to before Herschel (please refer to the timeline below). As technology has evolved, it has made image capture significantly easier, cheaper and more practical. At present, phones are used by the majority of people to capture images.
